Sustainability

Environmental initiatives are critical to a sustainable future, and for Wolf Eyewear, that commitment is something that we are embracing. To become a more sustainable company, reducing our carbon footprint is essential.

As a business, we’ve taken steps to reduce our impact on the environment, ensuring we are planet-positive, increasing energy efficiency, reducing dependency on virgin materials and plastics and investing in initiatives to cut carbon emissions.

Several years ago, we switched the sales team to an all-electric fleet, with over half now using EVs we’ve achieved a significant reduction in carbon emissions, together with a 25% reduction in mileage by embracing technology, mixing online and in-person meetings, and route-planning software, our initiatives will only continue to decrease our carbon emissions.

Alongside our commitment to EVs, our offices are now 80% powered by renewable energy and expected to be 100% by 2025. We continue to look at more ways to lower energy consumption.

The optics industry has traditionally been very dependent on plastics. We want to encourage the evolution to an oil-free world, and so wherever possible, you will see that we use bio-acetate in our frames. Our team is constantly working with our supply chain to ensure the best materials make it into our production process. By using certified suppliers, we ensure the quality of our products, and because they are well manufactured, our frames are built to last.

A bio-acetate is a plastic made from a biodegradable substance; in our instance, this is cellulose. This is the key constructional component in plants and, as such, prevents more fossil fuels from being extracted from the earth. Keep an eye out for any products ending in “eco“ or that are sold under our inspirit range for our own badge of eco-conscious approval.

Did you know, that our lens cloths are made from recycled bottles?
